Babar Azam and Ghazi Ghouri Take Control
After losing two quick wickets, Pakistan needed a solid match-winning partnership. The nation’s most reliable batsman, Babar Azam, joined hands with Muhammad Ghazi Ghouri. Both players showed amazing maturity under pressure.

He smashed 8 beautifully timed boundaries all around the ground. He looked very comfortable against both pace and spin bowling. Together, Babar and Ghouri put up a massive 127-run partnership for the third wicket.

When Pakistan was just a few runs away from a comfortable win, Australia struck back. Nathan Ellis bowled a great spell and got the breakthrough. He bowled out Babar Azam for a well-made 69 runs.
In his next over, Ellis got the wicket of Ghazi Ghouri as well. Ghouri was given out lbw after making a superb 65 runs. Salman Ali Agha also got out quickly for 6 runs to Marnus Labuschagne.
Arafat Minhas Finishing Style
These late wickets created a little bit of drama in the stadium. However, these breakthroughs came way too late for the Australian team. Arafat Minhas came out to bat with a very positive mindset.
The young hero showed his amazing talent with the batting blade too. He scored a quick 18 runs off just 17 balls with full control. He smashed 2 boundaries and 1 big six to finish the game.
A Comfortable 5-Wicket Victory for Pakistan
Arafat Minhas and Abdul Samad stayed together until the very last ball. They comfortably took Team Green across the winning finish line without further damage. Pakistan reached 202 for 5 in just 42.3 overs.
Pakistan won the opening match by 5 wickets with 45 balls remaining. For Australia, bowler Nathan Ellis was the most successful with 2 wickets. Kuhnemann, Sangha, and Labuschagne picked up 1 wicket each during the chase.
Pakistan Takes the Lead in the ODI Series
With this dominant win, Pakistan now takes a 1-0 lead in the series. It was a perfect display of planning and execution by the home side. The fans are absolutely delighted with this clinical performance today.
Australia will definitely look to fix their mistakes and bounce back next time. On the other hand, Pakistan will want to win the next match. They will try their best to seal the 3-match series early.
