What a crazy first innings we have just witnessed! If you are a cricket fan, you probably need to catch your breath right now. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have completely destroyed the Gujarat Titans (GT) bowling lineup in this crucial Play-off match.

GT won the toss and chose to bowl first, hoping to put some pressure on RCB. But man, did that decision backfire! RCB came out with all guns blazing and posted a massive total of 254/5 in their 20 overs. That is a run rate of over 12 runs per over!

Let’s break down exactly how this unbelievable batting performance happened, step by step.

A Shaky Start but Kohli Stands Tall

RCB did not have the perfect start they wanted. Venkatesh Iyer opened the innings but could not stay for long. He scored 19 runs off just 7 balls before getting caught by Shubman Gill off Kagiso Rabada’s bowling. It was a quick little cameo, but RCB needed a big partnership.

That is when Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal stabilized the innings. Kohli looked in great touch, as he always does in big matches. He smashed 43 runs off 25 balls, hitting 5 fours and a six.

Padikkal also played a supportive role, scoring 30 runs off 19 balls. Both batsmen fell to Jason Holder in the same over, leaving RCB at 94/3. At that moment, GT thought they were back in the game. But they had no idea what was coming next.

The Rajat Patidar Show

After those quick wickets, Rajat Patidar came out to the crease, and he completely changed the game. If you missed his batting, you missed something truly special. Patidar, who is also captaining the side, played like a man on a mission.

He smashed an unbeaten 93 runs off just 33 balls! Can you believe that? His strike rate was a mind-blowing 281.82. He was hitting the ball to every corner of the stadium. Sixes and fours were raining everywhere, and the GT bowlers looked totally clueless.

Patidar did not care who was bowling. Whether it was pace or spin, he just smashed everything. It was one of the best T20 knocks you will ever see, especially in a high-pressure Play-off match.

Great Support from Krunal Pandya

Patidar did not do it all alone, though. He got excellent support from Krunal Pandya. Krunal came in and played a very smart innings. He scored 43 runs off 28 balls, keeping the scoreboard ticking while Patidar was going crazy at the other end.

Their partnership completely took the game away from Gujarat Titans. By the time Krunal got out to Rabada in the 17th over, RCB was already in a massive position.

Even though Tim David got out for a duck shortly after, Jitesh Sharma came in at the end and hit a quick 15 runs off 5 balls to finish the innings with a huge flourish.

A Nightmare Day for GT Bowlers

It was a tough day to be a Gujarat Titans bowler. Almost everyone went for a lot of runs. Mohammed Siraj had a really hard time, giving away 46 runs in his 3 overs without taking a wicket.

Kagiso Rabada took 2 wickets but gave away 54 runs in his 4 overs. Prasidh Krishna also conceded 53 runs for his single wicket. Kulwant Khejroliya only bowled 2 overs but was taken for 31 runs.

The only bowler who managed to survive the storm was Rashid Khan. He did not take a wicket, but he only gave away 29 runs in his 4 overs. Jason Holder was the pick of the bowlers with 2 wickets for 39 runs, but even he couldn't stop the run flow at the end.

The Crazy Final Overs

The last few overs of the RCB innings were pure entertainment. In the 16th over, RCB smashed 20 runs, including three massive sixes. The 17th over saw another 20 runs added to the total with two more sixes.

The 19th over was another big one, yielding 16 runs. But the final over was the real icing on the cake. RCB took 21 runs off the 20th over, hitting two sixes and a four to finish at 254.

The momentum is completely with Bengaluru right now. Their dugout is smiling, the fans are going wild in the stadium, and the players look incredibly confident.

Can Gujarat Titans Chase This Down?

Now, the big question is: Can Gujarat Titans chase down 255 runs to win this Play-off match? It looks like an almost impossible task on paper, but cricket is a funny game.

GT has a strong batting lineup with players like Shubman Gill and Jos Buttler. They will need to play the best cricket of their lives to even get close to this target. They need a flying start in the powerplay, just like RCB had.

On the other hand, RCB’s bowlers like Josh Hazlewood, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Jacob Duffy will be raring to go. Defending 254 is a bowler's dream, but they still have to hit the right areas and avoid giving away free runs.

What do you think about this incredible first innings? Do you think Rajat Patidar’s 93-run knock will win the match for RCB, or can Gujarat Titans pull off a miracle chase? Drop your predictions in the comments below!
